	HIMBUNKAR has been working on projects for training and employment generation through shawl and carpet weaving for women belonging to weaker sections of the society.

Located in the North of India, in the highlands of the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh is famous for its weaving and handicrafts traditions. The exquisite handicrafts of the state are expression of the rich creativity that translates the dreams of its people into precious works of art.

With a purpose to provide a state level forum to artisans of handicrafts and handloom weavers co-operative societies of Himachal Pradesh The H.P. State Handloom & Handicrafts Weavers Apex Co-operative Society Ltd. 'HIMBUNKAR' came in to being in the year 1984.

HIMBUNKAR aims at keeping alive the age old traditional crafts of the state and diversifying them according to the latest market trends.

		Our Members

253 primary weavers co-operative societies belonging to 11 districts of Himachal Pradesh are at present members of HIMBUNKAR. Besides the H.P. State Government is also a member of this society The total members' share capital in the society presently is Rs. 60.77 lakhs

		Our Objectives

To undertake production and marketing of handloom & handicrafts goods on its own account or from member co-operatives through its own showrooms and exhibitions.
To constantly work towards improving the skill of the weavers.
